Weve been a Nearpod gold user for several years. Nearpod is one of those SAAS companies that has tried to do a whole bunch of things--but they havent evolved to be particularly stellar at anything. Nearpod tries to be a hybrid between a presentation, collaboration and a feedback tool. However, these days there are many other more feature-rich options on the market--either free or at a fraction of the cost. Quick example: if youre giving a presentation to a room full of iPads and you decide to insert a video, the videos play asynchronously limiting the features effectiveness. Imagine 50 iPads playing the same video at 50 different timings! Other features are comparatively expensive. Annotation/note-taking, for instance, is only available with their "school" edition. The price of admission for that starts at $1,200 a year. Lastly, their sales people are challenging to communicate with. They strike me as product evangelists who believe theyre doing you a favor by giving you an audience. They simply believe their product is completely superior in all aspects and raising an objection seems to ensure a non-response. If this corporate culture is pervasive, Nearpod is likely to end up a casualty of a free market as their marketbase discovers much more effective alternatives. Were no longer gold users.

Students and other users may not have access to a computer so there need to be a working in app function to create presentations the safari version crashes and deletes progress made randomly.

Teachers this product is an insult to you. This is simply a matter of business men who have ZERO knowledge of the educational standards trying to profit off of you with their product which is simple nothing more than subpar PowerPoint Presentations. Its an absolute insult to you that they are trying to profit off of your teaching salaries! You can EASILY create better and FREE materials for your classroom! Dont buy into this scam.

Nearpod brings a new dimension to the learning experience for students and educators. Since first using Nearpod in the classroom in 2012, Nearpod has been my #1 tech tool for collaboration and instruction. Though my positions in education have changed from classroom teacher to administrator to my now current role as program developer, Nearpod has been the tool that I feel has grown and evolved with me over the years. Today, in my efforts to connect students to content and to the world through innovative instructional practices, I have found that Nearpod not only prioritizes engagement, but also meaningful connection. It offers features such as polls, student notes, Google Apps Integration, and On the Fly sharing—all demonstrating a dedication to the sharing of student voice and promotion of authentic learning. Currently, as I see that teachers are seeking digital technologies and platforms that allow students to move along a continuum of technology integration, I find that Nearpod offers flexibility for every user regardless of grade level, area of study, or type of device being used. With both teacher reports and real-time assessment, teachers can monitor comprehension and understanding and can adjust accordingly to highest levels of student success. Nearpod highlights and celebrates the work of teachers through sharing in the content library, and though I have continued to renew my Gold Level Edition year after year, the free version provides a robust platform for the creation and sharing of Nearpod presentations. The entire Nearpod team demonstrates dedication to the product and to customer success. Offering a solutions-based approach that is pedagogically driven and educationally sound, the team aims to support all classrooms, all teachers, and all students in their search for knowledge. Now any educator, anywhere in the world has the platform to have his or her voice shared in a powerful way. For me, Nearpod is the tool that can transform learning! 5+ Stars!

Areas that need attention: *-iPad Pro support *-Split view for multitasking (so that we can take notes in another app while viewing a presentation) -Ability to download presentations -Ability to skip forward and back while seeing a presentation -Very slow UI (also cant "swipe" through slides, have to press on a slide to go to it) * = crucial

Technology is a little old and clunky. Needs more tools and creative options for students.

Its alright I guess

This app helps me with all my student presentations. Yes... I am a student and I use this app almost every single day. It is the most helpful presentation app that I have ever used. If this were a paid app, I would buy it in an eighth of a heartbeat.

I have used nearpod now a few times and my students like having the presentation right in front of them. They also enjoy using the quizzes and polls. It gets them interacting and engaged. I like the fact that I can see everyones responses in the visual pie chart and project the responses for the whole class to see. The added compatibility with google drive is also wonderful.

This app has changed the way my class participates...I love everything about it! I wish I could afford to go premium, maybe Ill win the lottery :)

I would rate higher if this allowed presenter to see slide notes

I saw this app while at a training and started playing with it today. Its AWESOME!!! Very interactive, easy to use, full of teacher friendly features, and quick virtually no lag time.

What a great way to use technology; keep the whole class engaged by allowing all to answer singular questions. Everyone gets submit their opinion in a nonthreatening way. You can follow-up later individually as needed. What a great way to expand the participation & get everyone involved...even the quiet, shy, unsure ones. Super!!!!!

I love the features in this app, but I especially love sharing virtual reality and having this feature in this app. Didnt get into the Google Expedition Program? No problem! Get Nearpod and start sharing VR with all your students at the same time. I thought we would run into Wifi issues with 45 conference participants (max) watching at the same time, but it was seamless. Good job Nearpod!
